P.A.T.H.

Parent and caregiver support to help make difficult moments more understandable and more manageable.

Understand what's happening, recognise signs of stress and learn how to respond

Advice is only useful if it still makes sense when a child is overwhelmed, a routine changes or a handover starts to go badly. P.A.T.H. supports parents and carers to understand what may be happening, recognise early signs that stress is building and practise realistic ways to respond in everyday family life.

It may help caregivers build greater confidence responding to difficult moments, earlier recognition of escalation signs, more workable transitions and handovers, clearer routines, more consistent approaches between caregivers, and practical co-regulation and de-escalation strategies.

P.A.T.H. can also be relevant in kinship and foster-care contexts where the support requested, service scope and practical requirements are a suitable fit. It is not about judging parenting — it is about helping useful strategies become clearer, more consistent and more realistic to use.

The proposed P.A.T.H. Pilot is a separate charitable initiative and is not part of the standard P.A.T.H. service.
